Horizontal Shadings
To say horizontal window shadings are unique is an understatement. These exquisite soft window coverings combine the advantages of shades and blinds...in one breathtaking design. Combining the softness of a cellular shade, the simplicity of a roller shade, and the functionality of a window blind, these window shades offer unparalleled beauty and performance. Originally introduced in 1991 by Hunter Douglas® under the Silhouette® name, this product became one of the fastest growing window coverings. Two-inch horizontal fabric vanes float between two layers of soft, knitted fabric sheers revealing a diffused view when open and full privacy when closed.
The fabric blocks 98% of damaging UV rays, and room darkening shadings also block a fair amount of light. These shadings should not, however, be used for blackout purposes (blackout honeycomb shades are better).
