Controlled Energy Corporation's (CEC) origins trace back to 1979 when Pierre Moffroid began constructing his new home in ermont's Mad River Valley. While designing the new home, Pierre discovered that his choice of water heaters was limited to storage tanks; the high performance tankless water heaters so common in his native country of France were not available in the U.S. In an effort to bring the superior technology and accompanying environmental benefits of tankless water heaters to the U.S., Pierre and his wife Mary formed CEC and named the product AquaStar.Over the course of its twenty years in business, CEC has added other water heaters that complement the AquaStar line. These include Ariston point of use electric mini-storage tanks; Powerstream electric point-of-use tankless water heaters and PowerStar electric tankless water heaters for the whole house. With a diverse product line and over 65 employees, CEC has established itself as the leading U.S. distributor of energy efficient water heating products.
