1958 Partner introduced the world's first power cutter. Since then we have developed and improved our product line in a way that is quite unique in the industry.
Together with Diamant Boart, the market leader in the stone industry, Dimas, Target and Partner form Electrolux Construction Products. Partner has a factory which specializes in the manufacture of power cutters. Through ongoing technical development and by constantly creating new and better solutions to more cutting needs, we have retained our strong market position, gaining more and more valuable experience in the process.
Partner's close collaboration with Dimas has taught us which blade types are the most suitable for the various applications. Together we are able to offer innovative and effective cutting solutions of high performance.
What distinguishes Partner from other manufacturers is our constant effort to solve all kinds of cutting tasks. This is the way we started and this is the way we will continue working. And this is why we have become the cutting experts of the world.
The power cutter was first launched in 1958 as a chain saw accessory. It came about due to a request from the rescue service at a Stockholm airport for a new tool capable of freeing passengers quickly in the event of a plane crash. Fire departments around the world soon realized Partner power cutters were invaluable tools for both rescue work and fire fighting. And it didn't take long for people working in the construction industry to see just how useful these tools were for many applications, such as for cutting concrete, stone, brick, tile, steel and asphalt.
Partner Industrial and the modern power cutter
In the beginning of the 1980's the sales of power cutters became such an important part of the business that a separate company was formed, called Partner Industrial Products. The purpose was to focus more on the development of Partner's product range and its worldwide distribution network. During the 1980's, Partner presented a string of revolutionary and unique technical innovations which led to a strengthened position as the cutting experts of the world.
