As a family-owned business, Elkay has a history of manufacturing innovative products and delivering excellent customer service. From our simple beginnings on Chicago's north side to our present position as a supplier of complete kitchen products, we have always remained focused on key objectives--designing our products and adapting our businesses to serve the changing needs of our customers.
The Elkay Manufacturing Company began as a vision of Leopold Katz and his son Louis in 1920. Founded in a small 2,1OO square-foot building on Chicago's hear north side, their goal was to manufacture the highest quality sinks and provide the best service possible -even if that meant delivering a sink by streetcar to satisfy a customer's immediate need. It wasn't long before Elkay became the leading manufacturer of butler's pantry siffks made of German silver and polished copper, and galvanized steel scullery sinks. Today, the name Elkay is synonymous with quality facuets, water coolers and cabinets.
